Where the Classic series fills its field with corner devices and dense bordering, the Modern II lets the cream ground sit open around a single composed medallion — reading lighter, calmer, more architectural. The premium cotton hand is consistent with the rest of the line: brushed-soft, dense-springy, with the medallion raised above the field in tactile relief. Cream cotton at this density reads luminous in daylight, almost photographable on its own.

Designer pairing

Built for transitional-modern interiors and pale-floor rooms. Sits best on white-oak, bleached pine, or pale ash floors where the cream-on-cream effect amplifies daylight. Upholstery: navy or forest velvet for contrast, soft taupe bouclé for continuity, or a single black-leather accent chair as a graphic punctuation. Polished-nickel and chrome hardware preserve the contemporary read; mixed-metal also works.

Cream is honest about itself: it photographs beautifully, but it asks more of the household than navy or red. With small children or pets, the open cream field will show wear before the dense-pattern siblings will. This piece sits in the cotton family — cotton face on a cotton foundation, precision machine-woven for sharp pattern definition with hand-finished edges. The cotton hand is softer and lighter than wool underfoot, reads more tonal, and suits bedrooms, sunrooms, and adult-led households where palette quietness matters.

Patterns draw on Persian medallion and field traditions, translated into the cotton register: lighter, more luminous, more breathable than a comparable wool weave. Care is straightforward but not machine-wash — see the Care panel for details on this construction.
