Ordering & Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Every online order ships free across the continental United States, Hawaii, and Canada — with no minimum order amount.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within 1 business day of payment confirmation. After that:
- Continental US: 3 to 5 business days
- Hawaii: 3 to 5 business days
- Canada: 3 to 5 business days (plus possible customs hold)
You’ll receive tracking by email as soon as your rug ships.
How do I track my order?
You’ll receive an email with a tracking number as soon as your label is created. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to update with the carrier. If it hasn’t updated after 48 hours, email us at info@stylishrugs.us and we’ll check on it personally.
Do you ship to Canada? Are there extra fees?
Yes, we ship free to Canada. Canadian orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, or brokerage fees collected by the carrier on delivery. These are determined by Canadian customs authorities and are the responsibility of the recipient. They are not refundable.
Can I pick up my order in Sacramento?
Yes — local pickup is available on most in-stock orders. Choose Local Pickup at checkout and we’ll email you when your order is ready, usually the same day.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, yes — email us right away at info@stylishrugs.us with your order number. Once a label is created we usually can’t cancel, but we can help you start a return after delivery.
Returns & Exchanges
What’s your return policy?
You may return any online order within 30 days of delivery. The rug must be unused, in its original packaging, and free of wear, vacuum marks, stains, odors, pet hair, or alteration. For non-defective returns the customer covers return shipping; for damaged or defective rugs we cover it.

What if my rug arrives damaged?
Email info@stylishrugs.us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number, a clear photo of the damage, and a photo of the original packaging. We’ll send a free return shipping label and offer a free replacement, exchange, or full refund — whichever you prefer.
How do I start a return?
Email info@stylishrugs.us with your order number and reason for return. We reply within 1 business day with return instructions. Please don’t ship returns without prior authorization — it can delay processing.
Are returns from in-store purchases allowed?
Purchases made at our Sacramento showroom are eligible for exchange only, not refund. Exchanges must be requested within 24 hours of purchase, with the original receipt and packaging. We’re happy to spend time with you in the showroom before you commit, so you can be confident in your selection.
The rug looks slightly different from the photos. Is that a defect?
Many of our rugs are handcrafted, so slight variations in pattern, color depth, weave tightness, and edge finishing are part of what makes each piece unique. Color may also appear different on screens than in person due to monitor calibration and room lighting. These natural variations are not defects, but you’re welcome to return within 30 days under our standard policy if the rug isn’t the right fit.
How long until my refund appears?
Inspection of returned rugs typically takes up to 3 business days. After approval, refunds appear in your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Materials & Care
What are your rugs made of?
Our collection includes hand-knotted wool, machine-woven wool blends, viscose, polypropylene, cotton, and silk-blend rugs. Each product page lists material, origin, reed count (where applicable), and pile information. If you can’t find what you need, email us and we’ll send specs.
What does “1200 reed” mean?
Reed count refers to weave density in Persian-style rugs. A 1200-reed rug has a much tighter, finer weave than a standard 700- or 1000-reed rug — meaning sharper pattern detail, a softer hand, and significantly longer wear. It’s a luxury benchmark for Persian-inspired pieces.
How do I clean and care for my rug?
- Vacuum weekly on a low-suction setting. Avoid the beater bar on high-pile or hand-knotted rugs.
- Rotate every 6 months to ensure even wear, especially in high-traffic areas.
- Spot-clean spills immediately with a clean white cloth and lukewarm water. Blot — do not rub.
- Test mild soap on a hidden corner before using on tougher stains.
- Professional cleaning every 2–3 years keeps fibers fresh.
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Will the colors fade over time?
High-quality wool and synthetic rugs hold color very well with normal care. The biggest cause of fading is prolonged direct sunlight — rotating your rug and using window coverings during peak sun hours will help keep colors vibrant for decades.
Are your rugs pet-friendly and kid-friendly?
Many of our rugs are well suited to family homes — particularly low-pile wool blends and polypropylene rugs, which clean easily and resist stains. Hand-knotted Persian and Afghan pieces are durable but benefit from a little extra care. Email us with the rug you have in mind and we’ll tell you honestly how it holds up.
Will my rug shed?
New wool rugs typically shed lightly for the first few weeks — this is normal as loose fibers from the manufacturing process work their way out. Vacuum gently on a low setting; shedding subsides quickly. Hand-knotted rugs typically shed less than tufted rugs.
Sizing & Fit
How do I choose the right size rug?
A rug should anchor your space, not float in the middle of it. As a general rule:
- Living room: at least the front legs of all major furniture should rest on the rug. Common sizes: 6.5×10 ft or 8.2×11.5 ft.
- Dining room: all chair legs should stay on the rug when pulled out. Add about 24 inches around the table.
- Bedroom: a rug under the bed should extend 18–24 inches on the sides and foot. 5×7.5 ft works for queens; 8.2×11.5 ft suits king beds.
- Hallway: leave 4–6 inches of bare floor on each side. Common runners: 3×6, 3×10, 3×13 ft.

What sizes do you carry?

Can I see the rug in my space before committing?
Two options. First, visit our Sacramento showroom and we’ll help you visualize at scale. Second, order online with confidence — you have 30 days from delivery to return if the rug isn’t the right fit.
Do you offer rug pads?
We carry premium rug pads in standard sizes at the showroom. A good pad protects the rug, prevents slipping on hard floors, and adds cushioning underfoot. We strongly recommend one for any rug placed on hardwood, tile, or laminate.

Are you a real store, or just an online site?
Real store. Family-owned. Walk in any day of the week and we’ll personally walk you through the collection. Our online customers ship from the same showroom — every rug is hand-inspected before it goes out the door.
Do I need an appointment to visit?
No appointment needed — just walk in during open hours (10 AM – 7 PM, every day). If you want personalized help with a specific room or large project, call ahead at (916) 890-4077 and we’ll set aside time for you.
Where do your rugs come from?
We work directly with weavers, importers, and family workshops across Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, and beyond. Many of our relationships go back generations. That’s how we keep prices fair, quality high, and stories honest.
Do you offer custom or special-order rugs?
Yes — come into the showroom and tell us what you’re looking for. We can source custom sizes, specific designs, color combinations, and one-of-a-kind antique-style pieces. Lead times vary from a few weeks to a few months depending on the piece.
