Stylish Rugs Collection

Cream & Ivory Rugs

Cream is the hardest ground colour to weave well and the easiest one to live with. On a pale field there is nowhere for a loose knot or a soft outline to hide — the medallion, the spandrels and the fine border all have to be exact. That is why the cream designs here are drawn from our 1200-reed tier, machine-woven in Türkiye, where the weave is dense enough to hold a clean line against an open background.

What is in this collection

  • Cream traditional and classic medallions — the formal Persian look, at its lightest.
  • Cream and silver — for rooms leaning contemporary, where a warm cream would clash with cool furniture.
  • Ivory and beige — the warmer, softer end, which hides everyday traffic noticeably better than a true cream.
  • Prices start around $100 for a small size and run through to 9×12 and 10×13.

How to work with a cream rug

Cream makes a room bigger. That is the whole point of it. A pale field pushes the walls out and lifts a room that is short on daylight, which is why it is the standard choice for apartments, north-facing living rooms and anywhere with heavy furniture.

Be honest about the traffic. Cream in a formal sitting room or a main bedroom is a joy. Cream in the entry hall, under the dining table or in the dog's route to the back door is a decision you will be cleaning around. If the room is high-traffic, take the ivory-and-beige version instead — same lift, far more forgiving.

Warm cream and cool cream are different colours. Hold the shade against your wall in daylight. A warm cream next to a cool grey-white wall reads yellow and dirty; the cream-and-silver designs are the ones that sit happily with cooler whites.

A pale rug needs a defined edge. Every rug here has a drawn border, which is what stops a cream field reading as a blank patch on the floor.

Popular sizes in cream

8×10 in a living room, 9×12 for a sectional or great room, 5×7 beside a bed where cream is at its safest. Shop 8×10 · 9×12 · 5×7 · runners, or see the rug size guide.

Answering your questions about cream rugs

Are cream rugs practical with kids or pets?

In a low-traffic room, yes — the synthetic pile releases dirt far more readily than wool, and spills blot rather than soak in. In a high-traffic room, be realistic: you will be spot-cleaning regularly. The ivory-and-beige designs are the sensible compromise, and a mid-grey or patterned red is the genuinely low-maintenance answer.

How do I clean a cream rug?

Blot spills immediately with cold water and a drop of mild soap, working from the outside inwards — the speed matters far more than the product. For a full refresh, hose it down outdoors and lay it flat to dry, or take it to a carpet-wash service. Vacuum weekly without a beater bar.

Will a cream rug go yellow over time?

The pile is solution-dyed, so the colour sits inside the fibre and does not oxidise or yellow the way an untreated natural fibre can. What does change a cream rug is ground-in soil, which is why regular vacuuming matters more here than on any other colour.

What colour walls and furniture work with cream?

Almost anything, which is the appeal. It is the one colour that lets you choose the sofa first. For contrast, a darker sofa — charcoal, navy, green, brown leather — keeps the seating area from dissolving into the floor.

Are these hand-knotted?

No — machine-woven in Türkiye with fringes and edges finished by hand. “Persian,” “Kashan” and “Tabriz” name the design, not the country of manufacture. Hand-knotted Afghan carpets are shown at our Sacramento showroom by appointment.

Can I see the shade in person?

Yes — most of the in-stock catalog is at our Sacramento showroom at 3423 Watt Avenue. Creams shift more than any other colour between a screen and a living room, so WhatsApp (916) 890-4077 if the exact tone matters.

Buying Guide

How to Choose the Right Rug for Your Home

A fine rug should feel beautiful, balanced, and practical for the way you live. Use this quick guide to choose the right size, color, material, and style.

Choose the Right Size

For living rooms, 8×10 or 9×12 usually frames the seating area. For dining rooms, choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond the table.

Match Your Color Story

Burgundy and gold create a warm traditional look. Navy and cream feel elegant and modern. Ivory, beige, and soft tones help brighten smaller rooms.

Understand Rug Quality

Machine-made rugs offer consistent patterns, durability, and easier maintenance. Higher density and detailed weaving create sharper designs.

Shop by size

Not sure what fits? In a living room the rug should reach 18–24 inches past each side of the sofa. In a dining room, allow 24 inches beyond every chair so the chairs stay on the rug when they are pulled out.

Practical buying notes

What to know before buying a machine-made rug

Construction

The online catalog is power-loomed in Türkiye with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Each product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material.

Material & feel

A polypropylene pile on a cotton warp and weft — soft underfoot, colourfast, and far more forgiving of traffic and spills than wool.

Cleaning

Colourfast and water-safe, so a rug can be washed at home by hand or with a carpet-cleaning machine. Never in a washing machine or dryer. Day to day, vacuum on low with the beater bar off.

Best rooms

Living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, family rooms and majlis seating — anywhere you want a traditional look that survives daily use.

Hand-knotted

Genuine hand-knotted Afghan carpets are shown at the Sacramento showroom by appointment. They are not part of this online catalog.

Common questions

How much is shipping, and how long does it take?

Shipping is free on orders over $110 across the USA and Canada, and a flat $20 below that. Orders leave within one business day and arrive in 3–5 business days in the U.S. Sacramento-area online orders get free local delivery in 1–2 days.

What is your return policy?

30-day returns on online orders. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. The customer pays return shipping; if a rug arrives damaged or faulty, we pay. Approved refunds are processed within 3–7 business days.

Are these rugs machine-made or hand-knotted?

The online catalog is power-loomed (machine-woven) in Türkiye, with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Every product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material. Hand-knotted Afghan pieces are shown at the Sacramento showroom by appointment and are not listed online.

Can a rug be cut or bound to a different size?

We sell from stock rather than weaving to order, and the largest size we carry is 10×13. What we do in house is cutting, binding, overlocking and fringe work on a rug we already stock, so an existing piece can be trimmed to fit an alcove or a stair run. Ask us and we will tell you what is on the floor.

Can I see the rugs in person before buying?

Yes. The showroom is at 3423 Watt Avenue, Sacramento, open daily 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM. We speak English, Turkish, Farsi, Dari, Pashto and Urdu, and the team can help with size and colour choices.
