Stylish Rugs Collection

Traditional Rugs

Traditional rugs bring the timeless language of Persian and Oriental design into your home — central medallions, intricate floral borders, Kashan and Tabriz motifs, and the rich jewel-tone palettes that have defined fine rugs for centuries. Our traditional collection gathers the classic, formal designs in our catalog: Persian-design medallion rugs, Kashan and Qom patterns, Imperial and Darbar layouts, and ornate all-over florals.

How our rugs are made

  • This collection is machine-woven (power-loomed) in Türkiye, imported directly by container to the United States and cleared through U.S. Customs with Türkiye as the declared country of origin.
  • Hand-finished. Fringes are attached and finished by hand, edges are hand-serged or hand-bound, and fine border detailing is completed by hand after weaving.
  • Hand-knotted Afghan carpets are shown by appointment at our Sacramento showroom and are not listed online. See the hand-knotted collection →
  • Design names are design names. “Persian,” “Kashan” and “Tabriz” describe the pattern, not the country of manufacture.

Densities run up to 1,200 reeds and 1.5–2 million points per square metre for crisp, fine detail.

What makes a rug "traditional"?

Traditional rugs are defined by symmetry and storytelling: a grounded central medallion, corner spandrels that echo it, and layered borders that frame the field. The palettes lean classic — deep navy, burgundy, cream, gold and soft greys. These designs anchor formal living rooms, dining rooms and entryways, and pair beautifully with both antique and transitional furniture.

Choosing a size

For a living room, an 8×10 or 9×12 sits the front legs of your sofa and chairs on the rug; formal rooms read best with all furniture on a 9×12 or larger. Dining rooms need 24 inches of clearance past the chairs on every side — usually a 9×12 minimum. See our complete rug sizing guide, and browse by size in 8×10, 9×12, Runner and Oversized.

Materials & care

A durable, colour-stable pile on a stable backing, built for daily living. It is solution-dyed, so the colour is inside the fibre and stays fade-resistant, and water-safe — the fibre sheds moisture rather than drinking it. Blot everyday spills with cold water and a drop of mild soap; for a full clean, hose it down outdoors and lay it flat to dry, or take it to a carpet-wash service. For everyday upkeep, see our rug care guide.

Buying Guide

How to Choose the Right Rug for Your Home

A fine rug should feel beautiful, balanced, and practical for the way you live. Use this quick guide to choose the right size, color, material, and style.

Choose the Right Size

For living rooms, 8×10 or 9×12 usually frames the seating area. For dining rooms, choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond the table.

Match Your Color Story

Burgundy and gold create a warm traditional look. Navy and cream feel elegant and modern. Ivory, beige, and soft tones help brighten smaller rooms.

Understand Rug Quality

Machine-made rugs offer consistent patterns, durability, and easier maintenance. Higher density and detailed weaving create sharper designs.

Shop by size

Not sure what fits? In a living room the rug should reach 18–24 inches past each side of the sofa. In a dining room, allow 24 inches beyond every chair so the chairs stay on the rug when they are pulled out.

Practical buying notes

What to know before buying a machine-made rug

Construction

The online catalog is power-loomed in Türkiye with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Each product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material.

Material & feel

A polypropylene pile on a cotton warp and weft — soft underfoot, colourfast, and far more forgiving of traffic and spills than wool.

Cleaning

Colourfast and water-safe, so a rug can be washed at home by hand or with a carpet-cleaning machine. Never in a washing machine or dryer. Day to day, vacuum on low with the beater bar off.

Best rooms

Living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, family rooms and majlis seating — anywhere you want a traditional look that survives daily use.

Hand-knotted

Genuine hand-knotted Afghan carpets are shown at the Sacramento showroom by appointment. They are not part of this online catalog.

Common questions

How much is shipping, and how long does it take?

Shipping is free on orders over $110 across the USA and Canada, and a flat $20 below that. Orders leave within one business day and arrive in 3–5 business days in the U.S. Sacramento-area online orders get free local delivery in 1–2 days.

What is your return policy?

30-day returns on online orders. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. The customer pays return shipping; if a rug arrives damaged or faulty, we pay. Approved refunds are processed within 3–7 business days.

Are these rugs machine-made or hand-knotted?

The online catalog is power-loomed (machine-woven) in Türkiye, with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Every product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material. Hand-knotted Afghan pieces are shown at the Sacramento showroom by appointment and are not listed online.

Can a rug be cut or bound to a different size?

We sell from stock rather than weaving to order, and the largest size we carry is 10×13. What we do in house is cutting, binding, overlocking and fringe work on a rug we already stock, so an existing piece can be trimmed to fit an alcove or a stair run. Ask us and we will tell you what is on the floor.

Can I see the rugs in person before buying?

Yes. The showroom is at 3423 Watt Avenue, Sacramento, open daily 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM. We speak English, Turkish, Farsi, Dari, Pashto and Urdu, and the team can help with size and colour choices.
