5x7 Rugs

5x7 rugs in Sacramento — the accent-and-bedroom size, woven in the same Persian, Turkish, and modern designs as our larger rugs. We carry it at 150x230 cm (about 5x7.5 ft), the production standard at this scale, and it covers what people call a "5x7" and a "5x8" alike. Most designs below also ship in 6x9 (6.5x10 / 200x300 cm), 8x10 (8.2x11.5 / 250x350 cm), and 9x12 (10x13 / 300x400 cm) — pick the design, then size to your room.

Why the size on the label is approximate

Worth knowing before you measure: 150x230 cm is the size at the loom, not always the size on your floor. These rugs are woven on a cotton backing, and cotton draws in slightly as the rug is finished and settles, so the finished piece measures a little under its listed size. That is why the same rug answers to both "5x7" and "5x8" here. If an exact figure matters for an alcove or a tight space, call (916) 890-4077 before you order and we will put a tape across the actual rug.

Who a 5x7 / 5x7.5 rug is right for

The 5x7.5 (150x230 cm) is the most versatile small-room and accent size. It works under a queen bed (laid sideways with the lower two-thirds covered, or at the foot), anchors a compact seating nook or reading corner, grounds a small home office, or layers over larger carpet to define a zone. In a smaller living room it sits in front of the sofa as an accent rather than anchoring the whole grouping — for a full sofa-and-chairs anchor, step up to 6x9 or 8x10.

Quick room-fit guide

  • Bedroom (queen): 5x7.5 at the foot of the bed, or sideways under the lower two-thirds.
  • Reading nook / accent: 5x7.5 grounds a chair-and-ottoman or a small seating corner.
  • Home office: covers a desk-and-chair zone in a compact room.
  • Entry / layering: works as a layered accent over a larger neutral rug or carpet.
  • Apartments: the right scale for studio and one-bedroom living areas.

What "5x7" actually means in our catalog

Our 5x7 rugs are woven to the metric standard 150x230 cm (about 5x7.5 ft) — the common Persian and Turkish size at this scale. The proportions are calibrated to traditional medallion-and-border compositions, so the pattern reads in full rather than being cropped to fit a rounded American dimension.

Pick the rug, then size to your room

Every pattern in our 1,200-reed, 1.5M-Point, and 2M-Point series is woven across a full size range — so a 5x7.5 accent can match a 8x10 in the living room and a runner in the hall, all in one design and color family. For the full sizing logic, read our complete rug sizing guide.

FAQ: 5x7 / 5x7.5 rugs

Is a 5x7 rug the same as a 5x8? Here, yes — it is one rug, listed at 150x230 cm (about 5x7.5 ft), and it answers to both labels. Sizes are quoted at the loom; because the rug is woven on a cotton backing it settles a little smaller once finished, so what you measure at home comes out close to a rounded 5x7.

Can you tell me the exact measurement before I buy? Yes. Call (916) 890-4077 or WhatsApp us and we will measure the actual piece. For a tight space that is always worth doing rather than ordering from the label.

What room is a 5x7 rug best for? Bedrooms (foot of a queen bed), reading nooks, accent placements, small home offices, and apartment living areas. For anchoring a full living-room seating group, step up to 6x9 or 8x10.

Do you carry the same design in larger sizes? Almost always — the same pattern is woven in 6x9, 8x10, and 9x12 / 10x13, plus coordinating runners.

Practical buying notes

What to know before buying a machine-made rug

Construction

The online catalog is power-loomed in Türkiye with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Each product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material.

Material & feel

A polypropylene pile on a cotton warp and weft — soft underfoot, colourfast, and far more forgiving of traffic and spills than wool.

Cleaning

Colourfast and water-safe, so a rug can be washed at home by hand or with a carpet-cleaning machine. Never in a washing machine or dryer. Day to day, vacuum on low with the beater bar off.

Best rooms

Living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, family rooms and majlis seating — anywhere you want a traditional look that survives daily use.

Hand-knotted

Every rug we sell is machine-woven in Türkiye with hand-finished edges — we do not sell hand-knotted carpets. Walk in any day to see the full range in person.
