٢ مليون نقطة

Our densest machine-woven tier — honestly labelled, openly priced.

Two million points per square metre is the top of what a loom can do. At that density the drawing stops being an approximation: the fine interior detail of a Qom or Kashan medallion, the hairline outlines, the graduated colour in a spandrel — all of it survives the weave instead of being simplified into blocks. These are machine-woven in Türkiye, in the same Persian design tradition as the rest of our catalog, at the finest density we carry.

What is in this tier

  • Qom and Kashan navy medallions, a cream Persian design, and a grey oval medallion with pastel accents.
  • Available in 6×10, 8×10, 10×13 and runner.
  • Pile is 66% polypropylene / 34% polyester on a cotton warp, at about 10 mm — the same fibre as our other tiers, woven far finer.

What the density actually buys you

Detail. Put a 2 Million Point rug next to a 1200-reed version of the same design and the difference is in the small things — the outline of a leaf, the shading inside a medallion, the crispness of the border. At a distance they look alike. Up close they do not.

Recovery. More points per square metre means more fibre standing up per square inch, so the pile springs back from furniture feet and foot traffic better than a looser weave.

Colour saturation. Denser pile holds more dyed fibre in the same area, which reads as deeper, richer colour without any change to the dye itself.

What it does not buy you — stated plainly

These are not hand-knotted, and we say so on the listing, in the showroom and here. They will not appreciate, they have no resale market, and they are not heirlooms. A trained eye will read the construction as machine-woven under direct light. If what you want is an investment piece, this is not it — hand-knotted Afghan carpets are shown at our Sacramento showroom by appointment.

We also do not quote a lifespan in years, because nobody honestly can. What we can tell you is what actually retires a rug — fading, moths, water and edge unravelling — and how this construction stands up to each of them. That is set out in how long do machine-made rugs last?

Where this tier earns its price

A formal living room or dining room where the rug is seen close up and often; a room where the design needs to carry real detail rather than just colour; and any project where you want the Persian aesthetic at a fraction of hand-knotted money and are not pretending otherwise. For secondary rooms, rentals and playrooms, our 1200-reed tier does the same job for less.

Answering your questions

Is 2 Million Points better than 1200 reeds?

Denser, yes — and finer in the detail. Whether it is better for you depends on the room. In a bedroom or a playroom the extra density is largely invisible; in a formal room seen from three feet away it is the whole point.

Where are these woven?

Türkiye, like everything in our online catalog, imported directly by container. “Persian,” “Qom” and “Kashan” describe the design tradition, not the country of manufacture.

Do these need professional cleaning?

No. Vacuum without a beater bar, blot spills with cold water and a drop of mild soap, and for a full clean hose it down outdoors and dry it flat or take it to a carpet-wash service.

How do they compare to a hand-knotted Persian rug?

Honestly, and at length, in our fibre and construction guide and on why machine-woven rugs.

Can I see one next to a 1200-reed rug?

Yes — that is the comparison worth making in person, and both tiers are on the floor at 3423 Watt Avenue. WhatsApp (916) 890-4077 first to check which designs are in.

Buying Guide

How to Choose the Right Rug for Your Home

A fine rug should feel beautiful, balanced, and practical for the way you live. Use this quick guide to choose the right size, color, material, and style.

Choose the Right Size

For living rooms, 8×10 or 9×12 usually frames the seating area. For dining rooms, choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond the table.

Match Your Color Story

Burgundy and gold create a warm traditional look. Navy and cream feel elegant and modern. Ivory, beige, and soft tones help brighten smaller rooms.

Understand Rug Quality

Machine-made rugs offer consistent patterns, durability, and easier maintenance. Higher density and detailed weaving create sharper designs.

Shop by size

Not sure what fits? In a living room the rug should reach 18–24 inches past each side of the sofa. In a dining room, allow 24 inches beyond every chair so the chairs stay on the rug when they are pulled out.

Practical buying notes

What to know before buying a machine-made rug

Construction

The online catalog is power-loomed in Türkiye with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Each product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material.

Material & feel

A polypropylene pile on a cotton warp and weft — soft underfoot, colourfast, and far more forgiving of traffic and spills than wool.

Cleaning

Colourfast and water-safe, so a rug can be washed at home by hand or with a carpet-cleaning machine. Never in a washing machine or dryer. Day to day, vacuum on low with the beater bar off.

Best rooms

Living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, family rooms and majlis seating — anywhere you want a traditional look that survives daily use.

Hand-knotted

Genuine hand-knotted Afghan carpets are shown at the Sacramento showroom by appointment. They are not part of this online catalog.

Common questions

How much is shipping, and how long does it take?

Shipping is free on orders over $110 across the USA and Canada, and a flat $20 below that. Orders leave within one business day and arrive in 3–5 business days in the U.S. Sacramento-area online orders get free local delivery in 1–2 days.

What is your return policy?

30-day returns on online orders. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. The customer pays return shipping; if a rug arrives damaged or faulty, we pay. Approved refunds are processed within 3–7 business days.

Are these rugs machine-made or hand-knotted?

The online catalog is power-loomed (machine-woven) in Türkiye, with hand-attached fringes and hand-finished edges. Every product page lists the exact construction, density, pile height and material. Hand-knotted Afghan pieces are shown at the Sacramento showroom by appointment and are not listed online.

Can a rug be cut or bound to a different size?

We sell from stock rather than weaving to order, and the largest size we carry is 10×13. What we do in house is cutting, binding, overlocking and fringe work on a rug we already stock, so an existing piece can be trimmed to fit an alcove or a stair run. Ask us and we will tell you what is on the floor.

Can I see the rugs in person before buying?

Yes. The showroom is at 3423 Watt Avenue, Sacramento, open daily 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM. We speak English, Turkish, Farsi, Dari, Pashto and Urdu, and the team can help with size and colour choices.
